The Hackathon is this annual event that we do and it’s about different types of people coming together and thinking about what kind of needs can we solve today for the next 10 or 20 years.
Brad Hardin | Chief Technology Officer
I think we’re driving towards outside of the box problem solving. I think the mix of college students and B&V professionals is exciting because, if you think about ideas conceptually, the best ideas usually come from a group of individuals with broad perspectives and broad thoughts. So for us, it’s not about that one heroic idea or concept, but it’s really around bringing people together to collaborate and iterate towards a solution and come up with the next big thing.
Mark Vassell | University of Missouri
The best part is getting the real world experience and the Hackathon provides the environment to grow, learn, develop and gain leadership skills in a group environment.
Whitney Jones | University of Missouri
I like working with new people and getting to know new people, and also working with different disciplines and being able to come together and make one idea.
Josh Baden | Global Cloud Solutions Architect
It’s intense. We only get 24 hours to come up with an 8-minute pitch, which we could probably give three hours of presentation on. But it really fosters teamwork and collaboration and it’s really fun to kind of get back into that mode of thinking hard about big ideas.
